42 Nana’s decision

“So glad you could come to see us Nana” puffed Spirit still exhausted from trying to call her ‘the hard way’.

“I came for my Grandchild that is all” Nana spoke firmly and to a certain extent a little distrustful at Spirits greeting.
“Well nevertheless, we have a proposition to put to you, a mission should you chose to accept it.”

“Who’s we?” she was very protective as she stood in front of the Little Red Haired Girl.
“Myself Spirit, Soul, Heart, Brain and Body but most importantly Body. Body will die soon should we not get out of this Pumphouse prison. And as you know, without Body we will all be released and in Heart, Brain and Body’s case they will die.”

“What’s that got to do with me?” Nana was a tough cookie.

Soul spoke softly “Your Little Red Haired Girl lives within Body Nana. Does that not concern you? Are you not worried?”
“Not at all. In fact I long for the day we will be reunited properly with her without me having to travel through darkness and into the light and back and forth every time she needs me.”

“Well Nana, I am afraid that depends on Spirit and I. Whether we ascend and let you meet her there.”
“You cannot stop me. She is my Grandchild.”
“We are very much aware of that Nana and one who you presumably would like to live on earth a long and happy life. It is not our path to decide that. That decision is made by a higher rank than you or us. But let me assure you Nana, you reuniting with your grandchild would be our greatest wish should Body die, but in an appropriate time.”

“So what’s your point?” Nana enquired.

“The point is ” called Spirit “that there has been a great injustice here. Body has done nothing wrong to be put in this prison. She is not fatally ill yet other than pain and stress she endures through no fault of her own, and Soul and I feel inspired and destined to put matters right.”

“What type of injustice?” Nana’s peek was interested.

“Because of Heart, Body made some decisions against Brain, Spirit and Souls intuition and the known path which led us all to be stuck in this dark place, broken and lacking hope and inspiration to carry on. In fact if it wasn’t for your Little Red Haired Girl we would have all given up by now. She has kept us going.”
( “A nice warm fuzzy” whispered Soul directly to Spirit “a compliment is an inspired choice.”)

“I know. She is an inspiration to me too” Nana grew another inch or two with pride. “But how did you get stuck in here?”
“That’s my bad” cried Heart “I believed that Noswad loved me. I trusted him and in the end we ended up in here.”
“Now now hush and stop your crying” Nana soothed “and tell me how?”

Heart tried to explain about the hurt at their demise. The possible betrayals, the broken promise of marriage, the disloyalty and how after years this was to be there last chance. Nana sat and listened for what seemed like an eternity.
“The woman is a saint” Brain whispered “to put up with all this snivelling.”

“Shut up Brain, I will come to you in a minute for the facts if you have any of value” Nana retorted and as she returned to give Heart her full attention she glanced to see where her grandchild lay asleep huddled up to Body, and listened some more.
Finally Heart seemed to stop with quivering beats and calmed.

“You know Heart, it’s an age old story and one that many people suffer at least once in their time on earth. The best way to heal yourself is to forgive. Forgive him his flaws wholeheartedly, not for his benefit but for yours so that you can move forward, learn the lesson and grow into something better.”

“But what lesson? I did nothing wrong but to love him?”

“Maybe that’s the case, maybe not. But it would seem to me that you over gave, showered everything on him and lost yourself in the process” Nana concluded. “That too is why you are stuck here.”

“But Spirit is angry, Brain is confused and Soul has been virtually lost” Heart cried “And now Body is dying. How can I forgive him? I do believe in loving unconditionally, but how can I forgive him? Look at the pain it has caused!”

“By forgiving yourself first, all of you. No one can justify his actions, he was cruel and I am not going to suggest you forget it, but you can forgive yourself and him.”

“That is the path forward Nana, you are very wise” sighed Soul “but time is of the essence here. Will you help us get out of here? Can you see the injustice?”

“Yes” agreed Nana.
“Are you aware of the dangers? To yourself and the Little Red Haired Girl?”

“Just a minute” declared Nana “I am not putting her at risk!”
“It’s the only way” called Spirit “through the window with you guiding her.”

Nana’s response was concise.
“A) I won’t fit through the window and don’t need to.
B) She’s just a child with no spiritual gifts as such yet.
C) I can go alone and not put her in danger.
I won’t involve her” stated Nana.

“And you can converse with other people?” called Spirit.
“Well no only my grandchild because I miss her so much.”

“And can you be sure that she can’t converse with others? Because we feel that she can, we feel she may well be gifted.”
“No but she obviously cannot traverse through matter like me or she would be out there playing.”

“Ok” concluded Brain “we can debate this until the cows come home to no avail (the fact I am even considering this concept is beyond me). Spirit informs me that this will have to go to Spiritual court to be decided. So let them debate this. In the meantime if we all agree in principal that this situation of us trapped in here is an injustice and that an escape mission should be attempted with the Little Red Haired Girl’s co operation, I have a thread of thought that may appease everyone.”

“Pray tell” Nana was suspicious.

“A good request” said God.

“We could try a few short trips out to see. A tester or two if you like and we will see what the child is capable of. It would be the control in the experiment. How does that thought work for everyone? The court may go for that” Brain was pleased with itself.

There was silence in the Pumphouse but words were not needed as they all agreed. They needed to escape for Body, Brain and Heart to survive. Nana was prepared to make the sacrifices necessary if it failed and was not of detriment to the child. The court would be severe in its punishment.

Nana took a deep breath “Pray for us.”
