About the Author

I am retired now and I am lucky to have the choice and chance to write. Whether this change towards writing is good depends on the readers opinion not mine. Its written for my personal use and hopefully others may find it helpful or interesting along the way.

 

I was born and raised in Nottinghamshire, one of four children, and married at the age of 21 with a daughter of my own.

 

I have lived in a variety of counties in the UK and also abroad for the past 6 years, and my careers have been interesting and diverse for me. I can’t say I have ever been bored.

 

My dream career referred to in the writing, was to be a ballet dancer, a tough and disciplined career which was prevented due to the physical attributes of my own body, but the discipline and focus I learned from it stood me in good stead throughout my life.  It became part of my work ethic and was, in hindsight, never wasted even though it felt like a huge failure at the time and at such a young age of 17.

 

Life paths merge and become part of us, we never stop learning and with time, we also learn to accept that what wasn’t meant to be, happened for us not to us, and applies to all areas of our lives. Its taken me a long time to learn that.

 

Now at 65, and with the aid of therapy, reflection and if you like ‘awakening’ after trauma, I have embraced this writing as part of my healing journey and have enjoyed the process. Sometimes healing takes one to the least expected place.

 

In an age where emphasis and money is poured into attainment and material wealth, and the funds for creativity in one’s life in schools, business establishments or even just as a hobby is considered less important, something is lost.

 

We all need a creative pursuit. It keeps us alive, in touch with our Soul, Spirit and Heart, and is good for the Mind and Body.
