207 Wristwatch

They had their list of jobs to do and Body made sure all the paperwork required was with her, checked and doublechecked, to the point where it delayed them leaving the flat.
“We have everything we need” Brain admonished “we just need to get on with it and get out of the door. Hurry up.”
“Do not rush me” Body stated as she locked the door and decided that as it was a beautiful day she would have the top down on the car.
“Stupid, un purposeful car” Brain muttered. “Can’t even get a suitcase in it.”
“Shut up Brain, it’s a glorious day” Body announced as she walked to the car and purposely ignored the beheaded pigeon placed directly adjacent to her car. Body felt sorry about the pigeon, but nothing was going to bring her down today she decided.

The insurance office was closed and yet Body knew she had arrived within opening hours. What the hell? Returning to her car she checked the time and date on her phone and mused that by the time she had got the phone out of her handbag, opened the case and entered her key pin it would have been a darn site quicker to just be able to check a wristwatch if she had one that was reliable (she could never find one to work consistently once she wore it).

It was Sunday! For goodness sake! Somehow she had gained a day within the weekend. Oh well, perhaps she had just spent too much time on her own in the flat but that usually implied ‘lost’ time did it not? A change of plan and venue was required so Body decided to to drive up the hill out of town, music playing loud, tourists avoided, to her favourite place. She had her book, she had pen and paper, she had the rug in the boot and placed it in her bag to walk to her favourite spot surrounded by swaying and whispering trees.

Body heard them first before she had even left the car park and noticed two temporary flags that were not usually there, and in an instance, was surrounded by a cavalcade of motorbikes grouping together to set off on some planned route and adventure. This car park was obviously their starting point as they waited for the stragglers to group behind them. Body was filled with excitement as the noise and fellowship surrounded her as she paused her walk to watch them.

Fond memories arose from times she herself had been part of a motorbike group long past, more recent, and lastly the group she had attempted to join in Portugal. The long past group and memory, the one furthest away in time, had been a group she had felt she belonged to for the first time in her life, any group ever Brain recognised. Happy memories.

Body watched them as they eventually set off together out of the car park with a flurry of exhaust fumes, dust and noise. Body shared their excitement second hand so to speak. Body missed riding like a limb had been cut off, but seeing their meeting place had made her smile and given her a boost.
Body settled in her favourite spot and listening to the quiet natural sound of the trees, felt the breeze and sun on her skin and saw all the fabu;ous colours so prevalent at this time of year before the ground became scorched from the heat. Sitting on the ground she felt part of the nature surrounding her and could breathe it in.
“So” Spirit called “Who says energy cannot be transferred?”
“Hmmm” Brain reluctantly ‘spoke.’
“Well did they speak to us? Did they acknowledge us or make us part of it? Did you know any of them personally?”
“No” Body admitted.
“But you felt their energy and excitement? I rest my case” Spirit called it out as it was. “Energy is transferable.”
Brain stayed quiet, it was food for thought not speech.

Body lay down and the air and ground were alive with living things. Insects, birds and Butterflies everywhere. Everything was as it should be and they were going to be OK. Body enjoyed the moment.
Suddenly the breeze dropped, the grasses and trees went still in partnership, and Body was beginning to get hot without it so sat up to make herself taller to cool and catch more air, and then out of the corner of her eye she saw it. Flourescent orange and unmistakable as it did a lap of honour around her before dissapearing out of view. A bright orange, large butterfly, the type of which Body had never seen before but had ‘expected’. Body recognised she had been told she would see it, as confirmation that everything was going to be OK, finalised and completed, reassured, and it filled Heart with joy. The sight of it and the prediction of its appearance, confirmation that Heart was on it’s way to mending. Body thanked their Holy ancestors for bringing it to her and Soul thanked Big Voice.
“Da nada” a spirit called and got into the Portuguese language.
“That’s irreverent” Soul sighed.
“Is it” called their own Spirit. “Were we not designed with a sense of humour? As above so below, may it also work the other way around too? Did the humour hurt anyone? Was the intention bad? Are we not made in his image? Spirit or otherwise?”
“See this is dodgy ground” Brain interupted.

“I don’t call it that way” Spirit countered “This is where comedians and jokes get misinterpreted. We can laugh with people and at ourselves. In ‘fact’ to be able to laugh with each other about all our flaws is a sign of humility as none of us are perfect be it a race, a civilisation, a code of practise whatever example one chose’s. The difference is how it is done, whether with malice or not. We should laugh with them not at them.”
“It’s a thin line” Brain stated the obvious.
“Agreed” called Spirit “But who’s to say humour is not allowed when it makes us feel so much better? Who’s to say what and who we laugh with? Who’s to say the heavens, Big voice or our Holy ancestors do not also have a sense of humour?  We were gifted with it were we not? Laughter and smiling cures many ills.”
“And allows serious thought, provoking thought, presented on a path with humour. It is what I believe all Art and creative processes are for” Soul sighed.

“Any process to make us think, strike at our Heart, wake us up out of our slumber, has to be a way forward” called Spirit. “It’s part of the processing just reaching us through humour, a different way.”
“Cautiously” Brain agreed.
“Not everything can be cautious. Sometimes a risk is needed, ask any comedian…. it can go either way, but the reward is the laughter by all and including all. We accept we have flaws and can occasionally with luck and humility, laugh for them. It’s another path of learning.”

“High risk” Brain agreed.
“Relax” Big voice said with a smile in its voice. “You are Human. Enjoy the moment. Enjoy your peace.”
