153 Complicated
Body was musing about doing a learning course of some sort, but as previously thought through with Brain, where was her placement? What subject? Which direction? It was no good rushing a decision like this besides, they were still uncertain of which voice was which, which were projected from ‘others’? Which were from their own childhood? Or more simplistically, which were good or bad?
Some voices, energies, spirits, oh blimey whatever they were called, were maybe just as ‘tricksy’ as people and there were definately good and bad (and somewhere inbetween) types of people. How could Body be sure of what she was hearing or sure of anything? Where was her placement?
“Depends if you get to chose or are being chosen” the Little Red Haired Girl stuck her oar in.
“Don’t know what you mean child.”
“In PE or for a footy match. You can get to pick a side or be picked.”
“Oh I see what you mean” Body lazily agreed, ” she wasn’t about to go into this debate with the child. Body was too serious about it and wanted to keep its attention to itself.
“She may have a point” called Spirit.
“Well I can’t see it” Body didn’t really look.
“Well the whole point of a footy match is that its enjoyed by all. It’s good to win but it is not the be all and the end all.”
“Is it not?” asked Body “there are probably thousands of footy spectators that would disagree with that.”
“Be that as it may, it’s only fun to watch if the game itself is fun, is well played, is fair and played within the rules otherwise there would be no point. No point in going to the match if you already know the result” called Spirit.
“And your point is?”
“Not really sure” answered Spirit.
“It’s no fun if you’re not picked first. It’s like you’re the last on everyones list to be in a side.” The Little Red Haired Girl continued “and you are left there standing on your own.”
“Those days are gone child” Body said confidently.
“But sometimes I wanna play footy, not always mind. My sister was better at footy than me. All the boys would come to the door to ask her to play football. They used to put her in goaly.”
“How lovely” cried Heart.
“They was much older than her but she was a good player. Sometimes elder sister would run to answer the door coz she was getting all soppy bout boys n stuff, but they were asking to play footy with little sis and brother too.”
“Pleasant as these memories are, have you come to any decisions yet Body about a course of learning, a placement?” Brain enquired.
“No and I’m not going to yet. That is my decision.”
“Oh the usual then” Brain mocked “put it off to another day.”
“Give us a break Brain, I’ve only just started to feel more at rest and so I’m going to defer the decision.”
“Till when?”
“I have no idea” Body was curt.
“I don’t think it matters” the Little Red Haired Girl stated.
“The footy team?” Heart continued on the childs last topic of conversation.
“No, the choice of school.”
“It won’t be a school child” Heart cried “It will be an adult college or vocational course somewhere.”
“Like I said, learning.” the child was curt.
“Oh Ok” Heart became subdued.
“If you are all playing on the same team does it matter? Does it matter what age you are as long as you can play? Does it matter what colour your hair is or what you look like? Does it matter if you are first or last to be picked? Does it matter if you get to pick a side or be picked?” the child asked.
“I guess not” Heart answered.
“As long as the rules is obeyed and everyone enjoys it, it’s the same side, even the other team.”
“I’m not sure where this is going” admitted Brain “but I admire the sentiment.”
“Do you?” cried Heart “that’s a first” and Heart giggled.
Yes, they all wondered in amazement, Heart actually giggled and there was a lull in the chatter.
“My brother supports Notts Forest but his friend says Notts County is better, but it doesn’t matter what you call it, if it’s good, a good match, the name doesn’t matter coz it works. Everyone enjoys it.”
“I think the child is trying to say call it what you will, a Spiritual course, Religious, self reflection and awareness, therapy or astrology, as long as good rules are kept they can work together and create good teams for all to enjoy and to everyone’s benefit. There are some that believe Jesus Christ was a mystic healer, some the son of God, some that he was from outer space. It’s the messages he gave that are important not where you believe he came from for example. As long as all is done with good intent. He did not say to love and idolise him, he said to love thy neighbour is what I understand” called Spirit.
“Tenuous” called Brain “but I see where you are going. I just wish I could understand better. The stories recorded in the Bible for example, are written in such a way it doesn’t ‘sink in’ to me. I struggle to see the message in each story.”
“We should start to read the new testament” suggested Body.
“Maybe we will, but it seems far removed from life today” complained Brain “and so full of rules and regulations, endless names following family trees, it appears distant and hard to concentrate on.”
“I know what you mean” called Spirit “but we will be inspired if we read more, not just of the Bible but other books on the esoteric subjects too.”
“We will find our path, and whatever we call ‘Big’ voice are our intentions good? If they are, that’s anything anyone can ask of us” sighed Soul.
“Who surveys ‘good intentions’?” Brain checked. “Some people are misguided. We may be misguided? Therefore we are back to square one.”
“All five of us have to decide that” sighed Soul “to be sure of making good decisions and take the best possible course and direction in all matters.”
“That could take years” mocked Brain “the rate Body muses on things.”
“So be it” sighed Soul. “To be a seeker is perhaps who we are meant to be at the moment and that is good enough. But I believe Big voice is a good voice. The voice of God. Others may call it the Divine or the Universal creator, or their Higher self. But the simplified message is clear be honest, kind and considerate to others, thy neighbour, as best you can be for everyone’s good, and he has guided us to this point in our lives, he has forgiven our past and we have forgiven ourselves. Our enemies brought us to this point when Big voice was our only salvation, the only one with us, and with distance and hindsight we can be thankful to them. They have led us to Big voice, to God, to our higher self.”
“Can we go to the park now then and play on the the swings? or out in the breezy new car?” the Little Red Haired Girl asked.
“Yes child, we do not need a team for that, we are our own team today” Body stated.
“Own but not alone” God reassured.
