156 Trouble
There was still little or no contact from the family or Body’s daughter. It was to be expected I suppose, they had been guided to remove themselves to progress with their own healing and there was the argument Body had instigated over money and the debt she had caused Body to be in on a borrowed credit card. It had not been resolved and was being paid but still outstanding, Body had tried to reach a compromise and solution.
Their phone had also been hacked Body sensed, and Body had also blocked numbers herself of people who she had intuitively felt distrustful of. Had the situation been reversed, and Body had not heard from a person in her family via phonecalls, social media, texts or emails, Body felt sure she would have found another way to contact them. Should the boot have been on the other foot.
“They come in pairs and left foot is left and right foot is right. You cannot swap them” the Little Red Haired Girl commented.
“It’s a phrase child, it just means if you were in their position” Body answered.
“How would you have done that?” called Spirit, “contacted them if they had blocked you?”
“One can borrow a phone to make a call and then the block would not apply. One can email even if it goes into ‘spam’. If one was really concerned about a sibling/family member living abroad alone one can even contact the police to make enquiries. As far as we are aware none of this has been done and the only two people with intermittent contact with us are Aunties.”
“Then they would have told other family members that you were Ok and safe. Even the odd text to and from daiughter in the past would have confirmed this to the others” Brain stated the obvious.
“True” agreed Body. “But I would have wanted to make sure myself than content with hearing this from others. I thought our family relationships were worth more than that. These are people I have loved all my life. Why do they do not care?”
“A good question” called Spirit “other than what we have told via Big voice and ancestors, and to some degree Tarot readers, it is a mystery.”
“It is” cried Heart. “And it hurts.”
“We know” they all replied.
They watched the Little Red Haired Girl walking the park with a plume of pigeons following her as she scattered crumbs on the grass. Body had only given her a small bowl of crumbs but she watched as she distributed the crumbs in a way that the plume of birds landed sequentially behind her. They all got some crumbs as she walked around the circumference of the pond. The ducks followed her patiently swimming the edge of the pond too. The child made sure there was some left for the ducks to be fed by throwing the remaining crumbs into the pond for them from a seemingly endless bowl of crumbs. The child stood back and surveyed her accomplishment. No one was fighting for food, all had space and the ducks got fed in their own independent home on the pond.
Body watched as the child scoured the sky with worry, in case the seagulls arrived Body assumed since the incident of the death of a blackbird at the beak of them. The worry on her face was obvious as she searched the sky until they had finished feeding, the bowl returned to Body and she skipped back over to the swings.
“Why are bad incidents remembered more than the good ones?” Body wondered, the child obviously remembered the seagull.
“I’m not sure” answered Brain “but if you ask anyone where they were when they heard about 9/11, it will be remembered so shocking, horrific and bad the incident was.”
“Yes we were in Cheltenham at a friends house I recall. It came on the news on the TV.”
“Yes but why bad incidents leap out of the memory more than good ones, I do not have an answer for” Brain admitted.
“Is it normal?” questioned Body.
“I’m not sure” Brain rethought most of their therapy sessions as an overall but came to no conclusion.
“Perhaps it’s down to one’s own path and unique experience” sighed Soul “we do seem to have had a lot of bad incidents occur, let’s try to think of the good incidents instead.”
They agreed, but were silent for a while as they kept their eyes on the child who had got the swing going so high they questioned whether she would go over the top and form a full circle.
Good incidents?
“The moment we got through the audition for ballet school” Spirit recalled. “Pure joy.”
“The moment our baby daughter was born” Heart cried “so profound and humbling.”
Body looked at the child on the swing. “The time we had before pain.”
“The time I had before I knew too much about anything. People or places” Brain stated as it realised how stress free life was before becoming an adult. The exact point in time being ironically unknown.
“The first time I fell in love” Heart cried.
“The first time I enjoyed riding a motorbike” Spirit recalled. “In fact why did we stop doing that?”
“Pain in my hands” Body answered “Arthritis” as she watched the child lean back further to back the swing go even higher. “We tried too hard. We were too ambitious.”
“Don’t say that Body” cried Heart. “Life is like the swing you are observing. There are always up’s and down’s, backwards and forwards movement.”
“Overall, more downs and backwards” Body assessed. “For every moment of joy, which we rarely have now, there were and was heaps of trouble.”
